Summary of Curriculum for 8th Grade

for the 2008 - 2009 School Year

 

Music appreciation and art history are integrated throughout the curriculum.   As part of our history curriculum, students are exposed to the great artists and composers of the past.  In addition, students participate in various musical performances throughout the year.  Drama and the visual arts are encouraged as students are given the tools to express their creative abilities given by our Creator God.  The GCA String Ensemble which meets after school is open to those who are interested in playing stringed instruments.

Physical Education is emphasized in health class as well as in after-school sports teams including basketball, soccer and girls' volleyball.  GCA competes against area schools with its middle school boys and girls teams as well as JV and Varsity.
