In May of 2004, a group of parents came together for the purpose of praying and seeking God's will in having a classical Christian school in the Greenville area. An Interim Steering Committee was formed. Members of the Steering Committee included Mrs. Nancy Blough, Mr. Chad Cousins, Mr. Robby Davis, Mr. Kevin Hendricks, Mr. Tim Holt, Mr. Drew Robison, and Mr. Steve Sorensen.
On June 16, 2004, the Steering Committee made a recommendation to proceed with a classical Christian school in Grades K5 - 8. The school was soon named Greenville Classical Academy (GCA). Mr. Michael Sisk was named as Interim Headmaster.
On July 13, 2004, the parents convened and elected a Board of Directors. The initial five directors were Mrs. Nancy Blough, Mr. Chad Cousins, Dr. Perry Earle, Mr. Kevin Hendricks, and Mr. Drew Robison.
September 7, 2004 marked the first day of school for GCA held at Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church (PCA). We had 54 students enrolled in K5, 1st, 2nd, a combined 3rd/4th, a combined 5th/6th, and a combined 7th/8th grades.
Mr. Michael Sisk was named as Headmaster of GCA in May of 2005. The 2nd year of the school started on September 6, 2005 with 61 students in K5 - 9th grades and for the first time 5 home-schooled students enrolled in classes as part of the Home School Alliance (HSA).
Mr. Mark Klein became Headmaster of GCA in July of 2006. The 3rd year of the school started on September 5, 2006. Enrollment included 72 full-time students in K5 - 10th grades and 4 students in the HSA.
To God be the
